How to read this guide list
Start with the Windows install walkthrough if you have not launched the library window yet. Use the winget article when App Installer is already present. Open the MSI-or-portable chooser when you need a USB-stick layout.

Keep personal archives out of the Calibre library folder until you decide on a backup plan. Prefer the official homepage, GitHub Releases, and Windows Package Manager over Softonic-style wrappers.

Network blips on large library imports are common enough that a single trusted test book pays for itself. A failing SmartScreen block on an unknown publisher is a stop sign.
